The Instituto Cervantes in Amman is launching an audiovisual project to document the remarkable intercultural experiences of Spanish and Latin American women who, more than three decades ago, chose Jordan as their new home.
This initiative aims to offer a close, diverse, and authentic perspective that challenges stereotypes about life in the Arab and Muslim world, with a special focus on Jordanian society.
Jordan, with its rich natural and cultural heritage, has long been a crossroads of cultures, religions, and nationalities, giving rise to stories and artistic expressions that remain vibrant today.
Through this project, we seek to capture and share these experiences, highlighting the value of dialogue and coexistence.
The collection of testimonies will take place between October 1 and November 30, 2025, under the coordination of the center’s librarian, Nélida Sarduy Castellanos, who will identify participants and record their stories in audiovisual format.
The project will culminate in a public event in March 2026, offering a unique opportunity to reflect on the richness of cultural exchange and integration.
