Orgullo
Shot in the mountainous landscape of the Picos de Europa, in northern Spain, this rural drama is the fourth film by Spanish director Manuel Mur Oti, who repeats his intention of making virtuoso and resounding cinema.
The composition of the natural space and the difficulties of filming in such an inhospitable environment were two suitable incentives for Juan Mariné to demonstrate his ability to photograph an open space that recalls the imaginary of the western.
Synopsis: Laura returns to her village from Paris after ten years of absence. Her mother trusts her to take charge of the cattle ranch from now on. Laura will soon discover the hatred that exists between her family and the Alzaga family, whose land is separated by a river. Laura will not feel this legacy as her own, nor will Enrique, the first-born son of the neighboring family.
