Narrating the history of the forgotten Paco Cerdà

The April session of our virtual reading club will host the writer Paco Cerdà, under the title «Narrar la historia de los olvidados», Spanish for «Narrating the history of the forgotten». 


Paco Cerdà (Genovés, Valencia, 1985) is a Valencian journalist and writer. Among his work, all non-fiction novels, stand out Los últimos, 14 de abril and El peón, this last one granting him the Cálamo Prize in 2020. He founded and is the director of the editorial firm La Caja Books and worked for 10 years as a reporter in the newspaper Levante-EMV, as well as collaborating with different media outlets such as El País, la Cadena Ser, and Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos

With high sensitivity for social causes, numerous articles written by Cerdà are focused on underprivileged groups. This social focus granted him one of the Premios Solidarios prizes from the Spanish organization ONCE. Furthermore, he was named assessor for cultural matters for the President of the Valencian Region in 2019. 

Juan Vicente Piqueras, poet and director of the Instituto Cervantes in Amman, will present and interview the guest and hold a discussion with the participants, who will have previously read texts by the author.
