Literature and life Alex Gallegos

We resume the meetings of the Virtual Reading Club Cervantes in Amman and on this unique occasion we will meet with one of the most beloved and widely read writers of the literature written in Spanish: the poet and novelist Manuel Vilas.

Manuel Vilas (Barbastro, 1962) is a poet, essayist and narrator. His latest book of poems is entitled Roma (2020). He has written the travel book America (2017). He is the author of the novel Ordesa (2018), that has been translated into more than twenty languages, including Arabic, and winner of the prestigious Femina novel prize in France. His novel Alegría was a finalist for the Planeta Prize (2019), and is translated into several languages. He has just published Los Besos (2021), a love story in a pandemic. The fourth corrected and enlarged edition of his Complete Poetry will appear shortly. He regularly writes for the newspaper El País.

Juan Vicente Piqueras, poet and director of the Instituto Cervantes in Amman, will present and interview the guest and hold a discussion with the participants who will have previously read poems and texts by the author.
