The Hunt
Videomercury/EgedaWith this story of a hunt that brings together three old friends, Carlos Saura begins a metaphorical cinema that he will develop with the help of Spanish producer Elías Querejeta in the 1960s. In spite of the great problems with the prevailing censorship in Spain at the time, the film - winner of the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin Film Festival - managed to show the winners and losers of the Spanish Civil War in an interesting decomposition of Franco's patriarchy that, even today, surprises for the impact of its images.
