European Day of Languages

Instituto Cervantes in Amman is joining the celebrations of the European Day of Languages that ‎is funded by the EU Delegation and implemented by EUNIC Jordan and will take place on ‎Saturday, September 22nd, at the Haya Cultural Center.  ‎

The day will include a wide and varied program of pedagogical, musical, cultural and gastronomic ‎activities targeted to children and young people: Contests, dramatized classes, children's ‎storytelling sessions, meetings with a diplomat, film screenings, musical concerts, etc. This year's This year's theme is Discover the European Culture.‎‎

The European Day of Languages celebrates the linguistic and cultural diversity in Europe and the ‎importance of language learning worldwide. Its’ general objectives are to alert the public to the ‎importance of language learning and diversify the range of languages learned in order to ‎increase plurilingualism and intercultural understanding;‎‏ ‏to promote the rich linguistic and ‎cultural diversity of Europe;‎‏ ‏and to encourage lifelong language learning in and out of school.‎
