Young & Beautiful
Young & Beautiful is a documentary that follows four young people who have decided to live outside the paths laid out by society. At a crucial moment in their lives, they begin to question their aspirations and face a future that seems uncertain. Through intimate and honest conversations with the director, Marina Lameiro from Navarre, they share their doubts, hopes, and moments of reflection, painting a sensitive portrait of a generation searching for its own place in the world.
Synopsis: Poti, Nais, Ione, and Das are young people who have decided to live on their own terms, but as they approach 30, they are overcome by a deep unease: they are still far from being the independent, confident, and passionate adults they always dreamed of becoming. While society pushes them to abandon their self-centered aspirations, each one reexamines their identity through dialogue. Thus begins an intimate exchange between them and Marina, their friend and the director of this film.
Through the intimacy of her camera, Marina accompanies them in the most lucid and fragile moments of their daily lives: dancing, waking up together, strolling through beloved landscapes, letting themselves cry and laugh while, in complicity, they seek alternatives to remain true to themselves. “Young & Beautiful” is a multifaceted portrait of a generation accused of not wanting to grow up; a generation forced to accept a broken world and a country in crisis, where it is claimed that the only way to survive is to give up on one’s dreams.
