This blockbuster directed by Bigas Luna, with an international cast and crew, stars Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, who plays the Duchess of Alba. Doña Cayetana was a key woman in the court of King Carlos IV who developed a suggestive personality based on intrigue, but also on passion and desire.

The film's title evokes an ambiguity that can be traced back to Goya's Caprichos engraving no. 61, which shares the title of this feature film. The film radiates a grandiose visuality through photography and costumes that bring the lavish world of the late 18th century to life.

Synopsis: One morning in the summer of 1802, Cayetana, the Duchess of Alba, is found dead. A few hours before, at the inauguration party of her palace, many of her admirers and detractors were present: Goya, Godoy, Prince Ferdinand, Pepita Tudó and Pignatelli, among them. Although it is admitted as official version that the beautiful duchess died of natural causes, later confessions and revealed secrets invite to think that Cayetana could have been poisoned.
