Una corriente salvaje
Tatiana GraulleraNuria Ibáñez Castañeda's third feature film follows in the wake of her two previous works - La cuerda floja (2009) and El cuarto vacío (2013) - in which her approach to fascinating and distant characters takes us into their no less interesting and overwhelmingly unknown lives. This new documentary portrays the lives of two Mexican fishermen, Omar and Chilo, neighbors in a distant and apparently unpopulated place on the Pacific coast: we will see their daily life described in their fishing chores, but we also get closer to their way of understanding that loneliness, which their coexistence compensates in a very singular friendship. In the middle of nowhere, two men struggle to survive by leaning on each other. Everything they have built together slowly begins to crumble when the seed of mistrust is planted in one of them.
