Carla Subirana began her career with several works whose documentary emphasis is evident, particularly in Nadar (2008) and Volar (2012). With Sica, she tackles the sensitive portrayal of a teenager facing grief and loss in a landscape marked by memory and the sea. An intimate journey about growing up, silence, and the need to rebuild oneself after loss.

Synopsis: Sica is obsessed with the sea returning her father's body after a shipwreck on the Costa da Morte in Galicia. While walking along the cliffs, she meets Suso, the storm hunter, a strange boy like her who is waiting for the arrival of Ofelia, the mother of all storms. Sica investigates the circumstances of the accident and embarks on a painful journey of discovery. In her eyes, the fishing village where she grew up, marked by the brutality of the ocean and the growing imbalance of nature, will never be the same again. [A Contracorriente Films].
