Actress Ana Mariscal began her career as a director in 1953 with this comedy in which the influence of neorealist aesthetics can be perceived, but also the tradition of picaresque characters, which she endows with a remarkable humanity. In it, the filmmaker, with whose production company, Bosco Films, will make more than a dozen films, tells the story of a man from the provinces, who after the death of his mother decides to sell the modest family business and go to Madrid to try his luck.
