During the state of alarm decreed in March 2020 in Spain, the photography festival PHotoESPAÑA launched a call for citizen participation that registered more than 60,000 images on Instagram and inaugurated the 23rd edition of this festival. This contest resulted in a traveling exhibition composed of a selection of 28 large-format images (80x70 centimeters), chosen from all those registered in the call. It shows Spanish citizens in day-to-day situations in the face of difficult circumstances. Images that could be seen from their windows and balconies and that will remain in our memory through the photographs taken. Now, after being exhibited on the facade of the Embassy of Spain in Washington DC, Albuquerque joins this project, through this outdoor exhibition, #PHEdesdemibalcón, organized by the Embassy of Spain in Washington DC and hosted by the Cervantes Institute of Albuquerque, the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
