Miriam miente

The creative couple formed by Natalia Cabral and Oriol Estrada maintains, from the Dominican Republic, an artistic pulse with documentary observation, since their works made at the School of San Antonio de los Baños. Their first two works, ‘Tú y yo’ (2014) and ‘El sitio de los sitios’ (2016), had an excellent reception in international festivals. ‘Miriam miente’ is her first work of fiction, which unveils the differences and harshness that arise from the conflict between the individual and the social.

Synopsis: The quiet world of a petit-bourgeois family begins to crumble when fourteen-year-old Miriam meets her boyfriend on the Internet. While her family and friends enthusiastically prepare a traditional quinceañera party, Miriam does not know how to explain that her boyfriend is black.
