La herida luminosa

Convinced of the great social power that cinema can exert, Christian Avilés approaches filmmaking through kindness, generosity, passion and perseverance to transform society. With his graduation project and first short film, La herida luminosa, he has been nominated for the European Film Awards and participated with great success in the Berlin Film Festival.

Synopsis: Sun-deprived teenagers embark on a journey to the Balearic Islands in search of the light and warmth of the sun: they must absorb it and become the means of transport to bring it back to their bleak native United Kingdom. It is a surreal film about the real-life phenomenon of balconing which, in recent times, has resulted in tragic, self-induced accidents, particularly among young holidaymakers on the Spanish coast.
