La estafa del amor

La estafa del amor La estafa del amor

La estafa del amor is an improvised performance—a blend of film, theater, and sociological essay—directed by Catalan filmmaker and editor Virginia García del Pino, which explores one of humanity’s universal themes: love (and its absence), placing both perpetrators and victims within a romantic framework.

Synopsis: A group of people gathers to read the script of a film about a man who charmed women in order to swindle them. As the script reading progresses, the participants begin to delve into their own stories. Everything is recorded live, and the director herself acts as the master of ceremonies. The result is a comparative reflection on the ideal of romantic love and the extraordinary—and not necessarily positive—influence it exerts on men and women.
