Online meeting with writers Santiago Vaquera-Vásquez and Santiago Roncagliolo
On the occasion of the publishing of his new novel, Nocturno de frontera (Suburbano Ediciones, 2020), the Instituto Cervantes in Albuquerque is hosting an online meeting with author Santiago Vaquera-Vásquez, writer and professor of Hispanic Literature and Creative Writing at the University of New Mexico. Writer Santiago Roncagliolo will be joining the meeting, which will be moderated by the Instituto Cervantes’ director, Silvia Grijalba. Nocturno de frontera (Suburbano Ediciones, 2020) Daniel, a Chicano artist who lives and works in New York, receives a grant for a project about people in the Southwest. He hesitates to accept, his marriage to Melina is going through a crisis in which Daniel feels out of place, absent. But when a musician, the Cowboy, tells him that he has to do it, Daniel returns to his native California to undertake a journey that takes him from San Francisco to Austin, Texas, and back to Tijuana, Baja California, which ends up being a journey through the specters of his past, where he finds himself again on the roads, bars, motels and cities of the Southwest.
