El cuarto reino. El reino de los plásticos
María CanoMany times, cinema helps to immerse ourselves in places that are very close, but to which we would never reach by our foot. The Fourth Realm introduces us to such a place in New York. "Sure We Can" is a plastic collection plant, founded by Basque nun Ana Martinez, where homeless people are meant to come to exchange the waste they have collected for a few dollars. The documentary stars René, the narrator of the life that goes on inside this fascinating space that denounces the consumerism we live without conscience. René's life passes through the different seasons in this space, in spite of everything, beautiful and full of hope. The fourth kingdom. El reino de los plásticos portrays the daily life of a can collection and recycling center in a New York City neighborhood. Through René, an illegal worker from Mexico, and the relationships he establishes with his peers, we explore the lie of the "American dream". In the face of disappointment, the escape is often alcohol, but René also discovers beauty and art in the world around him.
