Discovering the best contemporary Mexican literature

The Reading Club is back at the Instituto Cervantes in Albuquerque. The Reading Club is the place where lovers of literature in Spanish inevitably converge. Our Reading Club is the only Spanish Reading Club in the state of New Mexico. Between March and July, 2021 we will delve into in the novels of two successful contemporary Mexican novelists: El murmullo de las abejas by Sofía Segovia and Desierto sonoro by Valeria Luiselli. Also, during the last month of the club, we will immerse ourselves in some of the most interesting short stories written by Mexican authors. The club is coordinated by Dr. Celia López-Chávez (Emeritus Professor of the University of New Mexico).
