Contemporaries. New routes
Lola Montero y Ángela Valverde (Instituto Cervantes)Once again this year, the Contemporáneos series offers an exhibition that, without claiming to be exhaustive, presents the interesting and innovative proposals of a new generation of filmmakers whose films have been released in recent years. In this edition, the documentary takes on special prominence, with three films -very different from each other- that fall within this genre. On the other hand, fiction maintained its space with a film directed by a group, which surprised by the solvency of a school project made by so many hands. The four films represent, each in its own way, concerns and themes of absolute validity, and ways of doing things that are a breath of fresh air for the film industry. The four titles that make up this cycle are extremely different from each other, both in their themes and in their languages. This has been, since its inception, one of the hallmarks of the Contemporáneos series. Each one responds to a concern for defending its own original filmic proposal, which continues to give special dynamism to the film circuit that moves away from the more traditional formulas and industry.
