Spanish Reading Club

Spanish Reading Club Instituto Cervantes Albuquerque

We started our book club this fall. A club is aimed at people interested in literature, both Spanish speakers and students of Spanish with a minimum level of B2. In this term we will be reading Tarta de almendras con amor, by Angela Vallvey; Un mar violeta oscuro, by Ayanta Barilli; Ni siquiera los muertos, by Juan Gómez Bárcena, y A flor de piel. by Javier Moro. We will read and discuss the texts while having the opportunity to talk to the authors, who will accompany us during one of the two sessions dedicated to each book. The club is coordinated by Dr. Celia López-Chávez, professor emeritus of the University of New Mexico. It is a unique opportunity to follow the literary dynamism of literary production in Spanish while discussing contemporary literature and issues.
