Baracoa

Baracoa Franco Szymanski (Studio Gambetta)

Leonel and Antuán are two children who live in Pueblo Textil, Cuba. In the summer, their lives develop through games, in the uninhabited places surrounding the town and in the middle of nature. Their friendship shows the complicity of childhood. Antuán goes to Havana to live with his father and the inevitable separation of both of them tarnishes with nostalgia that last summer together. The documentary directed by Pablo Briones achieves a strange mystique by approaching the enormous naturalness with which children spend their time between laughter, bets, bravado and fears. In their small town in the Cuban countryside, Leonel (age nine) and Antuán (age thirteen) have been friends all their lives. But Antuán is moving to Havana at the end of the summer and this vacation could be their last together
