Everything Else is Noise
Rosa, a composer, is nervous for an upcoming television interview, so she heads to her colleague Tere’s sun-drenched apartment in hopes that the idyllic surroundings will calm her nerves and show her in her best light. When the crew arrives, however, their awkward questions and bumbling aspect quickly send things off the rails. Interrupted by a series of technical difficulties, noisy city construction, and a persistently barking dog, the encounter devolves into absurdity.
Helmed with a light touch by director Nicolás Pereda, Everything Else is Noise is a warm, winking satire of the contemporary art world’s pretensions. The gleeful, mischievous Rosa and Tere playfully counterbalance the self-serious machismo of the television crew, resulting in a welcome send-up of their sexist, name-dropping snobbery.
