Pride
Peris AragóFilmed in the mountainous landscape of the Picos de Europa, in northern Spain, this rural drama is the fourth film by Spanish director Manuel Mur Oti, who returns to his goal of making virtuous and resounding cinema. The composition of the natural space and the difficulties of filming in such an inhospitable environment were two suitable incentives for Juan Mariné to demonstrate his ability to photograph an open space that recalls the Western imagery. Synopsis: Laura returns to her town from Paris, after ten years of absence. Her mother trusts that, from that moment on, she will be in charge of the livestock farm. Laura will soon discover the hatred that exists between her family and that of the Alzaga, whose lands are separated by a river. Laura will not feel this legacy as her own, nor will Enrique, the first-born of the neighboring family.
