Flamenco was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco on November 16, 2010 and for this reason, every year on November 16, International Flamenco Day is commemorated, an art and something very Spanish that crosses borders to offer the best of itself. The Instituto Cervantes de Sídney is proud to celebrate the International Day of Flamenco on a date as important as November 16, 2020, exactly the day that marks 10 years of the mentioned declaration. On this very important date and at 6:00 pm Sydney time (at 8:00 am in Spain) we offer the virtual meeting: "Flamenco today - Conversations between Australia and Spain", ´debate in which several experts from the world of flamenco Living in both Australia and Spain, will engage in a relaxed conversation in which they will have the opportunity to explain their experience working in the world of flamenco and sharing their art beyond their borders. The colloquium, which will be broadcast in zoom and at the same time will be broadcast via Facebook Live live from the Gabriela Mistral auditorium / library in Sydney, will be moderated by the executive producer of "Proyecto Flamenco" in Australia, Ms. Salud García and It will feature the participation of the flamenco guitarist Paco Lara with the participation of Flamenco dancer Maria del Mar Moreno and with Santiago Lara, who won the Seville Biennial of Flamenco in 2000. At the end of the event we will offer 15 minutes Q&A for the audience attending the event via zoom.
