Distance
Tomás Choc is just days away from being reunited with his daughter Lucía, kidnapped by the army 20 years ago. To cope with the loss, Tomás kept a diary of his struggle in the hope of one day being able to give it to her. Simple and with austere beauty, this picturesque journey delivers a rare insight into Guatemalan culture on the big screen while delivering a heartwarming universal story.
This film will open the festival at the Instituto Cervantes in Sydney at 6pm with a 7pm screening. Tickets are $25 general entry and $20 concession and include Eastside Radio DJs, Latin street-food, cervezas and vino.
