Flavours from Spain and gastronomy from Almeria

Flavours from Spain and gastronomy from Almeria Varios

This year Almeria has been named gastronomic capital of Spain and we want to celebrate it in Sydney by introducing the Spanish cuisine to the Australian community and, more specifically, Almeria in the context of a series of events related to Spanish cuisine.

On this occasion, the Instituto Cervantes de Sídney offers a conference on Spanish gastronomy with the participation of 3 Spanish chefs, two of them settled in Australia and willing to contribute their vision on Spanish gastronomy in Australia and Spain. At the event, the Spanish chef Rubén López Mesa, president of Eat Spanish and the Spanish Association of Chefs in Australia will give an introduction to the Conference and to the exhibition of his perspectives of the Spanish chefs David Sorroche and Víctor Moya:

The Spanish chef David Sorroche will explain to us what are the typical products of Almeria and how the city is preparing to offer the gastronomy of its land to the public visiting the gastronomic capital of Spain. On the other hand, Spanish chef Víctor Moya will explain how it is understood and how Spanish cuisine is established in Australia. At the end of the conference we will offer a question and answer session, opening the debate on the state of Spanish gastronomy in Australia.
