The Color Purple
Rich, juicy, full-bodied, and immediately appealing, wines from Mediterranean-like climates are the boldest and most different of all the world-class wines. Traditionally far from the Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rioja or Barolo models, these wines offer new styles and striking personalities. In Spain they encompass appellations from Aragón and Priorat to Jumilla and Andalusia, and varieties like Garnacha (Grenache), Monastrell (a.k.a. Mourvèdre and Mataro), Bobal and Syrah, among others. In this tasting we will explore the very best wines and styles coming out of these areas.
