Special San Valentine's Day winetasting: for the love of wine

Designed for beginners, this tasting seminar will be a fun and enjoyable yet rigorous introduction to the fascinating world of wine through the wines of Spain. We will cover all you need to know to understand the main wine concepts, and we’ll get you up to speed and ready for further explorations. This seminar will cover:

- Tasting of 14 different bottles of wine on this 14th special day of the month.

-Winemaking basics and wine types: table (red, rose, white), sparkling, fortified, dessert.

-Red: Tannic austere (Bordeaux, Ribera, Napa); medium-bodied, aromatic (Burgundy, Pinot, traditional Rioja); soft tannins, high alcohol, packed with fruit, normally from warmer climates (Zinfandel, Syrah, Priorat, etc.).

-Main grape varieties and wine regions.

-Most common wine terms like varietal, appellation, aging, reserva, estate bottled, single vineyard, barrel fermented, etc.

-Wine etiquette: how to read a label, navigate a wine list, order a wine, open a bottle, how to serve wine.

-How to taste wine.

-Wine and food pairing.
