In the 1960 and 1970s La Chana, Antonia Santiago Amador was one of the most important performers in the flamenco world. As a self-taught gypsy dancer , she came about in the golden age of flamenco, surprising audiences around the world with  her innovative style: showcasing rhythmic combinations that weren´t typical at the time, with a speed, expression and power that the medium had never seen. At the peak of her career, she disappeared suddenly from the stage. We follow he story behind the scenes leading up to her final performance in 2013. La Chana untangles her turbulent life to reveal the secret that cut short her promising career: during eighteen years, she was a victim of domestic abuse, at the hands of her first husband.
