Fabricio Galadí CuadradoThe image of the woman has been used and molded to suit the societies and events of each era. Visual codes and stereotypes are created: the working woman, the mother, the housewife, the muse, the sexual object, etc. These models have been absorbed and used by the male power establishment to introduce standards of ethical and moral conduct, and to assign specific functions and spaces. The usefulness of the woman was subjugated to the service of men and the family without fostering autonomy or personal growth.
