Cátedra Vargas Llosa: Captain Pantoja and the Special Service
One more year, Instituto Cervantes NY will hold a conference for the closing session of the (1) credit seminar devoted to Vargas Llosa´s novel Captain Pantoja and the Special Service. The conference, which is open to the public, will be held by professor Ana María Hernández and will discuss Vargas Llosa and the influence of French writers on his career as a novelist. It is going to be conducted in English.
Offered through the Cátedra Mario Vargas Llosa and the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures at The City College, CUNY, with the collaboration of Instituto Cervantes NY, the seminar will explore the novel´s satirical look at the Peruvian society of late 1960´s and early 1970´s. The seminar is directed by professor Ángel Estévez.
