The author of "Microhistoria de España. Contada por un británico" [published in English by Oxford University Press as Spain : What Everyone Needs to Know], William Chislett is our first guest in this new series of interviews. "The way they see us" will present foreign professionals who have adopted Spain as the center of their work and who will share with us their insights.
William Chislett (Oxford, 1951) is a senior research fellow at the Elcano Royal Institute. He was the Madrid correspondent for The Times of London during the Spanish transition to democracy from 1975 to 1978. Between 1978 and 1984 he was a correspondent for the Financial Times in Mexico City, covering Mexico and Central America. He returned to Madrid in 1986. He has written numerous books on various countries.
