I, the Supreme

Presentation of the commemorative edition of I, the Supreme, sponsored by The Royal Spanish Academy and the Association of Academies of the Spanish Language. Written by Paraguayan writer, Augusto Roa Bastos, I, the Supreme tells the story of dictator José Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia, during the XIXth century in Paraguay. Acclaimed by critics, it is Basto’s most renowned work, and a masterpieces of the Hispanic American Contemporary literature. Augusto Roa Bastos received the  Cervantes Award in 1989.
