The music between Cuba & Spain

The music between Cuba & Spain J.C. MADRID S. 406

A panoramic musical presentation delving into the intense relationship that developed between the music from Cuba and Spain since the very beginning of the colonial era. Throughout the so called American region of Europe–in lower Andalusia (Jerez, and the port cities of Cadiz and Sevilla), the musical interaction was very intense. Spanish and Cuban musical genres and styles grew simultaneously and had a reciprocal influence, fusing the Arabic, Jewish, and Christian cultures from Andalusia, and later integrating the African and indigenous cultures during centuries of intimate interchange.
