Maria Lago: A Retrospective

This exhibition brings together work that Maria Lago has produced over 30 years, crafting relentlessly. Each work is a thick mixture of organic materials that she uses to cover the canvas, layer by layer, as if it were a living organism. María Lago's work expresses the dialectic tension between nature and anticipation, perspective a nd context, in an attempt to rejoin spirit and matter. The strong expressionistic, works employ primitive symbols and archetypal images to explore both the universal human condition and her individual experience.
