The things of love

The return to the memory of the Spanish copla (and its imaginary materialised in the Spanish folk music cinema of the 1930s and 1940s) is impossible without this film, delicately starring Ángela Molina and Manuel Bandera in the roles of singers. Along with the evocation of the world of songs, the film portrays its backstage and makes a brilliant bet to allude to the moral and sexual subversion of this environment and its sad end in the Spanish postwar period.
