The Metaphors of Modernity: A vision from "Adiós Cordera" and "Pather Panchali"
In this lecture, the Hispanist Meenakshi Sundriyal will draw a parallel between two works distant in time and space, such as the tale Adiós Cordera, by Leopoldo Alas Clarín, from 1892, and the novel Pather Panchali, by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyaya, published thirty-seven years later, which offer a peculiar interpretation of their time and modernity.
