The Lunchroom

The Lunchroom Midnight Marauder/ ConUnPack

Ezequiel Radusky's first film, The Owners (2013), already dealt with the problems that cross the opposition between people of different social classes, where space defines their identity and also acts as a possible place of conflict. In The Lunchroom, the approach to the power strategy exhibited by places, depending on who controls and promotes them, reaches the ultimate consequences to show to what extent we are prisoners of our circumstances.

Synopsis: Lila and Marcela have always worked as cleaning staff in a state agency. They know its nooks and crannies like no one else and have invented a way of subsistence -and a dream- managing a completely irregular dining room in an abandoned corner of the building. But times change: a new director arrives, with her cynical speeches full of commonplaces, and with her the empty promises, the closing of the dining room and a wave of dismissals that destroy the precarious balance of life in the State and transform the everyday tasks into a struggle for survival.
