The Good Star

The penultimate work of Ricardo Franco is organized around a drama in three voices; those of its three main characters, played by Maribel Verdú, Antonio Resines and Jordi Mollà, who star in a breathless story. From a certain gaze towards marginality —a recurring theme in the cinema of the eighties and later— to the reflection on existence as a constant connection with the life of others and the dedication to them, the love triangle of the three characters recalls the claustrophobia of closed environments. The life of the family and its destruction permeates an impossible daily life when the drive for life and death is stronger than the survival of the individuals themselves.
