The Future
From the edge of the documentary, where all the intermediate states are touched to fiction, the cinema of Luis López Carrasco dialogues with the foundational and mythical moments of the recent history of Spain. In the 1982 to which the time tunnel of “The Future” takes us, the promise of modernity was in the air, the results of which dramatically touch the ground in 1992 in “The year of discovery".
Synopsis: A group of young people dance and drink in a house. The atmosphere is festive and joyful. The victory of the PSOE in the 1982 general elections seems recent and the night is infected with a spirit of euphoria and celebration. The attempted coup d'état of 23F, carried out only a year before, seems to belong to another time, as if it belonged to a past that is moving away at great speed. We could say that in Spain, in 1982, everything was yet to come, everything was the future. However, the future also seems to be approaching at enormous speed, like a black hole that devours everything in its path.
