The Antarex Paradox

The virtual film club Cita con el cine begins its 2025 programme with the science fiction film La paradoja de Antares, by Luis Tinoco. 

The magic of this film with thriller overtones, lies in the simplicity and intimacy shown by both the director, who places the plot in a single space, and the magnificent performance of its leading actress, Andrea Trepat. 

Alexandra, a scientist on duty at a radio telescope, receives a signal that could answer one of humanity's most momentous questions. She only has a couple of hours to verify it, but an unexpected family problem will force her into a dramatic internal struggle in a race against the clock to unravel one of the greatest mysteries of the universe.
