September 11 1973. The last stand of Salvador Allende [desconocido]

Director Patricio Henríquez went into exile in Canada after the coup d'état in Chile. His work as a documentary filmmaker has allowed him to address countless topics related to the social reality of the Latin American continent. Two of his latest works focus on the conditions of prisoners held in the Guantánamo prison. In his concern for the future of Chilean political history, after this documentary about what happened on the day of the coup, he directed Images of a dictatorship (2004), in which he analyzes the figure of Augusto Pinochet. Synopsis: The documentary narrates, almost minute by minute, the day of September 11, 1973 in Santiago, Chile. That day, the Palacio de la Moneda was bombed and burned by the military under the orders of Pinochet while, inside, President Allende, democratically elected by Chileans, resisted. This documentary reconstructs the history of that day and the last 24 hours of President Salvador Allende.
