My Big Night

My Big Night Mi gran noche / Álex de la Iglesia

The movie My Big Night is a Spanish comedy film directed by Álex de la Iglesia. Synopsis: José is sent by the ETT (Temporary Employment Agency) as an extra to an industrial pavilion on the outskirts of Madrid to work on the recording of a special New Year's Eve gala, in the middle of October. Hundreds of people like him have been locked up for a week and a half, day and night, desperate while pretending to laugh, stupidly celebrating the false arrival of the new year, over and over again. Alphonso, the musical star, is capable of anything to ensure that his performance will have the maximum audience. Adanne, his antagonist, a young Latin singer, is harassed by fans who want to blackmail him. The presenters of the program hate each other, competing with each other to gain the trust of the producer, who fights to prevent the closure of the channel. But what nobody expects is that Alphonso's life is in danger. While they laugh and applaud the performances senselessly, he falls in love with his table mate, Paloma.
