Death of a cyclist

After accidentally running over a cyclist on the road, Juan and María José decide to abandon him and hide their crime. If it were revealed that they were together in the car, their extramarital relationship would also come to light. Both enter a spiral of fear and guilt that will threaten a life of prosperity and privilege. Death of a Cyclist aims to portray Spain in the 1950s. It represents a cross between Italian neorealism and black cinema from Hollywood in the 1950s. The film, considered one of the absolute classics of Spanish cinema, won the FIPRESCI Prize at the 1955 Cannes Film Festival and the Best Cinematography Award from the Circle of Cinematographic Writers that same year.
