India, eternal and modern, has long seduced poets, essayists and narrators from the world over. Spanish and Hispano-American writers have not been immune to her charms either. In the past two centuries, authors such as Rubén Darío, Jacinto Benavente, Gabriela Mistral, Octavio Paz and Pablo Neruda, among many others, have embellished their literary creations with images from India.
