The Bride

The Bride Miguel Ángel Amoedo

Inspired on the well-known play "Blood wedding" by Federico García Lorca, "La novia" is set in Spain in the 1920/30’s and tells the story of a multi-family, multi-generational blood feud that is about to be settled by a wedding between two of the families. But Fate and Death have other plans as the girl is in love with another man. On the evening of the post-wedding party, the Bride cannot help herself as she and her lover gallop away on horseback leaving the groom behind; distraught and fuming. The two lovers are carried away by their passion and defying all social rules and their own better judgment, they set a chain of events in motion that will have devastating consequences.
