Art Appreciation: Surrealist Art in Spain

The Ayala Museum offers a series of Art Appreciation lectures and seminars that aim to encourage professionals, students, and other museum guests to look back and learn about the great masters of the past.

This particular lecture aims to give a better understanding of Surrealist art in Spain, and to answer the following basic questions:

• What is Surrealism? What is the historical background of this art movement? 

• Who were the important icons of this movement and what are their works?

• How did Surrealism shape the course of art history?

• How did Surrealism affect our contemporary view of the world?
