Don Quijote in the movies
Among the celebrations that accompany the event on Miguel de Cervantes will be the second part of Don Quixote, a selection of Spanish film adaptations that can be distinguished in two different readings. On one hand, traditional adaptations that unites the two most orthodox approaches, such as director Rafael Gil (1948) and Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón (2001). On the other hand, the cycle collects two "heterodox" readings by Orson Welles (reinterpreted by Jesus Franco in his unfinished film in 1992) and Albert Serra (2006).
