Bajo el silencio / Under Silence
Josu Álava y Koldo LópezTrue dean of the commitment to knowledge on the side of the victims of terrorism in the Basque conflict, Iñaki Arteta began his career as a documentary filmmaker dedicated to contextualizing and preparing a story on this subject in 2004, when he presented "Voces sin libertad", a film that brought immediate public attention to their ideas. In Under silence he addresses the footprint of terrorism in the Basque Country after the end of the armed struggle in 2011, in a twist within his work that shows his drive to accompany the story of those affected by violence. Synopsis: A young journalist travels to the Basque Country to get closer to those responsible for the murders of the terrorist group ETA and their ideological accomplices. On his trip he meets repentant terrorists, those responsible for crimes who are currently integrated into their towns, those convicted of terrorism occupying the positions of mayors, parliamentarians or university professors, to listen to their explanations about their past linked to the ultra-nationalist network and find out what mark terrorism has left on the Basque Country after its long and painful existence.
