Manila, Born from the Water. Dibujos de Intramuros

There is nothing more sophisticated than drawing a map, that accumulation of superimposed layers with different readings. In this exhibition, the Spanish artist Teresa Esteban is intending, from historical documents and maps, to make a graphic and aesthetic analysis of the urban evolution of Manila, to tell the story of the Philippine capital from its beginnings in Intramuros to the current city. All in order to confront both cities, the different worlds and the history that led it to be the mega city it is now, full of traffic, chaotic activity, with its symbolism, with its special method of traditional construction, with its flowers, smells and noises that are hiding behind the images, and with its specific way of life.
